May 30: An Inglorious Journey. on Flickr.

Well, my 1,000th mile wasn’t the beautiful triumph I might have asked for. I was sore and tired and hot.
Lately I’ve been running 6 miles a few days a week and concentrating more on aerial, so I’m not at the level of running fitness I was in just a few months back when I ran the half-marathon. So I was tired to begin with, and got up later than I intended….and for some reason, it was an incredibly humid morning.
I only had time to do a four-mile run, and yet when I finished I was red in the face and sticky with sweat. But damnit. I did it.
I still need to pick a marathon training program that works for me (I’m looking for a 23-ish mile long run, but the training programs I have found top at 20 miles, or skip up to the full 26!), and possibly find a training group to do the long runs with me.
